PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Castries, Saint Lucia: February 2, 2026) — The National Utilities Regulatory Commission
(NURC) announces the commencement of a series of public consultations as part of its ongoing review of the Triennial Tariff Review application submitted by the Water and Sewerage Company Incorporated (WASCO).
Established under the National Utilities Regulatory Commission Act, No. 3 of 2016, the NURC is mandated to assess tariff applications to ensure rates are fair and reasonable, support reliable service delivery, and balance the interests of consumers and the service provider in the public interest. This review is particularly significant as the last tariff review for the water and sewerage sector was conducted in 2013.
The consultation phase will provide clear information on the tariff review process and invite public feedback on key issues including affordability, service quality, and customer engagement. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and share perspectives to inform the Commission’s evaluation and final determination.
In accordance with regulatory requirements, the Draft Tariff Determination Report is published on the Commission’s website at www.nurc.org.lc. Stakeholders are invited to review the document and will be afforded a maximum period of two (2) weeks to submit written comments. Following the close of the consultation period, the Commission will evaluate all submissions and thereafter issue its Final Determination Report on WASCO’s application.
Submissions may be sent by email to info@nurc.org.lc or by post to: Chief Executive Officer, National Utilities Regulatory Commission (NURC), CP 6307, Sans Souci, Castries, Saint Lucia
